FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What kind property are productions looking for?

All properties are potential film locations. Think about properties you have seen in films and ads and you will realize that needs for each production vary greatly. No matter what the view, condition, location or style of your property it could be suited for a production.

My property is not in perfect condition, would they be interested?

Again, productions needs vary, not all properties needed have to be in as new condition. Often they are looking for a certain feel or look that an older property my portray.

How does your business work?

Vantage works as a booking agent, similar to a travel agent. Production come to us when they need a property. We assess their needs and then suggest a few properties from our catalogue that may be suited. Once production finds one they like or want to view they let us know. Vantage will then contact you, the owner and let you know all about what is proposed. At this point you have the option to say yes or no to that job. We never book in jobs without consulting the owner first. If you are happy we book in your property.

Can I choose to accept the job or not?

Of course! We understand if a job doesn’t fit in with your schedule or you are not interested.

Does it cost money to be listed?

Vantage Film Locations does charge a one off fee to list your property in our catalogue. The fee is $19.90, this is to cover the cost we pay to a website designer who creates your properties catalogue page. This is a one off fee, once paid you can leave your property listed with us for no charge as long as you like or until you sell your property.

How do I list my property?

Simply download the appropriate Sign On Form from our website www.vantagemanagement.com.au or call or head office to request a form to be sent to you – 02 9913 9596.

How much do I get paid when my property is used?

This varies greatly depending on the size of the production, the length of time they need your property and their budget. A small fashion photoshoot for a couple of hours could net you a few hundred dollars where as a major TV commercial or film could be more than one thousand per day.

Are productions insured?

YES! We make sure of this. Of course production companies try to take the best care of your property they can but in the event of an accident or damage you will be covered.

Is it safe to let people film at my house?

Vantage has many production companies we have been working with for years, these clients are VERY trust worthy. Any new productions we deal with are checked out carefully before giving them access to any property.

Can I be there when they shoot?

Yes, of course. It is ideal if the owner or a representative can be there on shoot days to help with locating things, giving advise and keeping an eye on things.  Production will be happy to have you around.

Am I expected to entertain or cater?

No. Production companies will have their own catering with their own facilities.

Can I update my listing if I change my property?

Yes, if you make changes to your property we would like to know as it keeps our listing of your property current.

My property is in a regional area, would it be worth listing?

Quite a bit of production happens out of major cities, we often need property in regional areas.
